Terms of Service
Terms Governing BCI Research Services
These Terms describe the basic conditions under which Beaty Corporate Intelligence provides public-source corporate research and risk analysis services.
Last updated: August 26, 2026
1. Services
Public-Source Corporate Research
Beaty Corporate Intelligence (BCI) provides public-source corporate intelligence and risk research for defined business decisions, relationships, investments, acquisitions, and other legitimate company-specific purposes.
Available services may include the Company Risk Snapshot, Corporate Intelligence Brief, Enhanced Due Diligence, Company Monitoring, and separately scoped Custom Research.
The specific scope, deliverable, price, and anticipated turnaround depend on the service selected and the requirements accepted by BCI.
2. Engagement Acceptance
A Request Is Not Automatically an Engagement
Submission of an intake form, contact message, payment inquiry, or other request does not by itself create an engagement or authorize BCI to begin research.
BCI may review a proposed assignment to determine whether the subject, purpose, scope, timing, and research requirements are appropriate for an available service.
BCI may decline work that is outside its capabilities, outside its operating model, inconsistent with lawful public-source research, or otherwise unsuitable for acceptance.
3. Project Start
When Research Begins
Project Start occurs only after the applicable scope has been accepted, required payment has been received, necessary client information is available, and BCI confirms that the assignment is ready to begin.
Published turnaround periods begin at Project Start and are stated in business days unless otherwise agreed.
A request submitted before Project Start does not reserve a delivery date.
4. Pricing and Payment
Standard and Quoted Work
Standard one-time research engagements are generally prepaid after the applicable scope has been confirmed.
Services identified as “From” or “Quoted” require scope review before a final price is established. BCI will provide the applicable scope and price before requesting payment.
Company Monitoring is billed on the approved recurring basis after the monitoring scope and required baseline have been confirmed.
Payment credentials are processed through the designated payment provider. BCI does not request that clients submit card numbers or other payment credentials through its public inquiry forms.
Any third-party cost that would be charged separately to a client requires prior client approval.
5. Scope Changes
No Unauthorized Expansion
BCI does not materially expand an accepted engagement or add additional charges without client authorization.
If research identifies an issue requiring substantially deeper work, the issue may be identified as an information gap or recommended follow-on due diligence rather than automatically pursued.
A new or materially expanded requirement may be separately scoped, priced, and accepted.
6. Research Method
Evidence, Judgment, and Information Gaps
BCI relies on lawfully accessible public information appropriate to the engagement. Sources may include corporate filings, regulatory records, court and legal records, company disclosures, government information, credible news reporting, industry sources, and other relevant public material.
Reports distinguish, where appropriate, between established facts, analytical judgments, mitigating indicators, and unresolved information gaps.
Public information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, outdated, removed, or unavailable. BCI therefore cannot guarantee that every material fact concerning a company will be discoverable through public-source research.
7. Research Results
Particular Findings Are Not Guaranteed
BCI provides a defined research and analytical process. It does not guarantee that research will identify adverse information, confirm a client concern, or produce any particular outcome.
An assessment may identify favorable indicators, material risks, mixed evidence, or unresolved information gaps depending on what the available evidence supports.
Any overall assessment reflects the available information at the time the research is conducted.
8. Client Responsibilities
Legitimate Business Purpose
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information reasonably necessary to identify the research subject and understand the business decision or relationship involved.
Clients must use BCI services for lawful and legitimate purposes. Clients should not request research intended to facilitate unlawful discrimination, harassment, stalking, unauthorized access, improper acquisition of private information, or other unlawful activity.
Clients should not submit passwords, account credentials, payment information, or unnecessary sensitive personal information through BCI public forms.
9. Research Boundaries
Activities Outside BCI Services
BCI does not perform consumer background investigations, physical or electronic surveillance, impersonation or pretexting, unauthorized access to systems or accounts, technical penetration testing, or acquisition of restricted or improperly obtained private information.
BCI may assess publicly reported cybersecurity, privacy, data-protection, regulatory, and related corporate-risk issues when relevant to an accepted engagement.
10. Decision Support
Reports Are Informational
BCI reports are intended to support business decision-making. They do not constitute legal, tax, accounting, investment, credit, or other regulated professional advice.
The client remains responsible for the final business decision and for obtaining specialized professional advice when appropriate.
Assessment language such as “Proceed,” “Proceed with Controls,” or “Avoid” represents an analytical judgment within the defined research scope and should be considered together with the supporting findings, limitations, and information gaps.
11. Report Use
Internal Business Use
Unless otherwise agreed, BCI reports are prepared for the client’s internal business use and ordinary internal decision-making purposes.
Broader publication, marketing use, public distribution, republication, or use of a BCI report to imply endorsement of a product, transaction, company, or third party may require separate written permission or terms.
Clients may ordinarily share a report internally with personnel, professional advisers, or decision participants who reasonably need the information for the relevant business purpose.
12. Client Information
Confidentiality and Data Minimization
BCI seeks to collect only the client information reasonably necessary to communicate, scope, administer, and perform an engagement.
Client-provided nonpublic information is treated as confidential business information and is not used for marketing or public promotion without permission.
Additional information about collection and handling of website and client information is provided in the Privacy Policy.
13. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation Depends on Project Status
A client cancellation before Project Start is generally eligible for a full refund of the applicable project payment.
After Project Start, any refund depends on the work already performed and the circumstances of the engagement.
Company Monitoring cancellation stops future renewals; the current paid monitoring period ordinarily continues through its scheduled end.
Complete cancellation and refund rules are provided in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
14. Declined Assignments
No Charge for Work BCI Does Not Accept
If BCI declines an assignment before Project Start, the client will not be charged for that assignment.
If a project payment was received before BCI determines that the assignment cannot be accepted, that pre-start project payment will be refunded.
15. Changes to These Terms
Current Terms Apply to New Engagements
BCI may revise these Terms as its services, operating practices, payment arrangements, or legal requirements change.
The current version published on the BCI website will identify its most recent update date.
Material terms applicable to an already accepted engagement will not be changed retroactively without appropriate notice or agreement.
