Checkout first, scope approval next
The standard one-company EDD reservation is $950 before applicable tax. Enter billing details and any discount code in Stripe Checkout. Stripe validates the code, including its product eligibility and redemption limits. A valid 100% discount can reduce checkout to $0. BCI does not receive or store your payment-card credentials.
Research starts with your acceptance
Completing checkout reserves an engagement; it does not authorize research. BCI reviews your request and sends a proposal describing the research scope, deliverables and turnaround. You can accept, request changes or decline on the proposal page. When you accept the current scope and payment is confirmed, BCI records Project Start. Turnaround runs from that recorded start.
Changes and cancellation
Requesting changes keeps research on hold. A broader assignment or higher price requires a separate proposal and your express approval; BCI will not automatically charge an additional amount.
If BCI cannot accommodate your request, or you decline the proposed scope before research starts, BCI will review cancellation and refund the amount actually paid through the original payment provider. A $0 checkout has no cash payment to refund. Refunds are reviewed and processed by BCI; clicking Decline does not immediately issue a refund. Provider processing times may apply.
After research begins, the general BCI refund policy applies. These reservation provisions govern cancellation before research begins for the prepaid EDD flow.
